Amnesia AU v2.o: Under the Stars

Weeks had passed since their run-in with Thor and the Thunderer had yet to show himself again.

Yet, that short meeting had left Loki paranoid. Paranoid enough to magically dive into Jane's brain more often than he should while she slept. Always looking for remaining bits of memories that were supposed to be locked away, always hunting down fragments of resurfacing memories. Needless to say: He was getting very little sleep lately and he wasn't sure how that would affect his magical abilities.

That, however, had become very little of a worry to him. What worried him more was the many times he found himself just- Staring at the sleeping mortal. Staring. Fantasizing. Getting ideas.

By now, they have met up with Darcy and Eric once more, even though the latter was about to leave them again, which would entirely leave them with Darcy. Who had mastered the art of going on Loki's nerves with remarkable success. She especially had found a liking in making inappropriate comments to bother him and thoroughly embarrass Jane.

At night, however, Loki permitted himself to recall those comments. Play with them in his mind. Unfold them.

These little mindgames with himself often left him even more restless than those nights that he only spend manipulating Jane's mind further.

Tonight, he wasn't particularly restless, yet Loki sat awake, once again peering down at Jane. Wondering. There was nothing but her to occupy himself with, but it would be much better entertaining if she were awake. Awake to talk and see the endless amount of stars outside of which he could only see a fragment out of the window and with the lights of the city diminishing the view. Were he outside the city, away from the light, how much more would he be able to see...

His eyes fell back on Jane. Lingered.

A mere moment later, a small, dark green piece of cloth materialized in his open palm and he shifted to lean over the woman to place it over her eyes, effectively blindfolding her.

What followed was not exactly a common action for the Asgardian: He picked her up, easily as if she was nothing, and marched outside. Out of their room, out of the building, and out of the city.
